In One Cycle of the Moon

In the year of Our Lord, 2011 on the 8th day of July we set sail to confront these strange warriors from the Far East. We take the fight to Them on Their land, may God have mercy on Their black-hearted souls. We will stage this terrible offensive on the shores of Mount Madonna Campgrounds at Huckleberry Cove with a collection of longboats and tarpaulin as well as supplies and stores for the Journey Ahead. Be wary ye scallywags and lubbers alike, dress the part of a Pirate, the best slops and frocks ye can muster or ye not be welcome on this Voyage! On the evening after the first we will celebrate our Glorious Revenge with a feast of import; for some this feast be their last. Be sure to bring somethin’ ta feast upon so as not to Play the Pauper and dash the Luck of the Pot!
This year, expect the fee to be $20 per car to the park, or to the Captain of the Coin depending on if you got a free parking pass or not (everyone pays for parking). On top of that, each person above 4 years of age will account for $12 to the Captain of the Coin to fund our bloody war. These appropriations will fund our defenses in Huckleberry Cove, the procurement of spars and coal for the boiler, grog, rations and other sundry necessities.
Also note that while the children are welcome to come and fight, they be treated the same as adults on deck of the Black Shenanigan. No quarter or reprieve be given for bad behavior and the din of battle so parents be warned, this ship be not a place for the likes of softer stuff.
So onward we go into the creeping fog, cutlasses held high and grog up to our eyes. I’ll meet ye there to swagger and slash and mayhaps die by yer side.
